Day 8- Learning About Business

Today was great! Brooke and I got to Remy today with no plan in hand. We started off by helping Remy clean off her laptop. We sorted through photos and uploaded them to google drive to organize them. Remy showed us how she orders her fall inventory. This process was very interesting to go through and learn about. She showed us how the platform works and what she thinks about when she is finding pieces to hold in the store. First, Remy goes through a brand's catalog and picks out pieces that she likes. Then, she thinks about what will sell and what her clientele would buy. She picks out the quantity and the sizes. Remy also talked to Brooke and me about tips for new business owners. Brooke and I helped a woman find a dress for her son's bar mitzvah and then assisted another woman who ended up purchasing a beautiful black Kleid dress. Remy is going to her Nantucket store all next week, so we helped her pack up her car with the clothes that she is bringing with her. Additionally, Brooke and I reorganized the jewelry display so that it was aesthetically pleasing. Remy showed us some of her own designs which was so cool to see. Overall today was amazing and we are so lucky to have such a hardworking and successful woman show us the business side of things.
